Where to Stay
We have held a limited number of rooms at a discounted rate at La Pensione Hotel, located in Little Italy. The hotel is a short taxi ride away from both the airport and the wedding location. There are two types of rooms available for reservation on a first come, first serve basis:
(I) A room with a single queen-sized bed, $119.99+Tx/Night
(II) A room with two queen-sized beds, $179.99+Tx/Night
The rooms have been blocked off for the nights of Aug-22 and Aug-23. If you would like to stay additional nights, we recommend you reserve them as far in advance as possible, since hotels tend to book up quickly over summer in San Diego. Rooms must be reserved by June 23 or the hotel will open them to other guests. When you call (800.232.4683), ask for the Wingert and Pizarro Wedding block of rooms.
Other options
If you’re planning to stay longer than the weekend, airbnb may be a good option, but rental homes fill up quickly over the summer in San Diego, so book early! If you’re looking for the most convenient spot possible and are willing to put up with a little bit of funk, check out the Balboa Park Inn or America’s Best Value Inn.
There are many hotels in San Diego, so if you have a car you may want to branch out and look for other places to stay.
